Inter Milan have no intention of selling captain Mauro Icardi, reports Premium Sport.
Mauro Icardi, 24, has netted 71 league goals for Inter since the start of the 2014/15 season and has unsurprisingly been linked with a move away from San Siro at various points.
Inter are currently enjoying a revival – they are second in Serie A – and their sporting director Ausilio says they plan to keep hold of Icardi for many years to come.
He told Premium Sport: “There hasn’t been any negotiation with Napoli. Many clubs like Mauro, we had started the negotiation for the renewal [of his contract] and it’s part of the summer game.
“There hasn’t been any intention to sell Icardi because he has no intention of leaving Inter because he is very well [here] and does not want to leave. He wants to stay for many years and we are cultivating this project, we have given him the captain’s armband in a very particular moment and and now he understands why. He is very committed with this shirt.”
