Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero admits he would “love” to see Lionel Messi join him at his club , but admits it would be “complicated” to persuade the 30-year-old to leave Barcelona due to his stature in the game.
“The money isn’t a problem here,” Aguero told TyC Sport. “But I think Messi, like [Cristiano] Ronaldo, are players who are symbols of their clubs and it’s difficult for them to leave.
“I would love to have Leo on my team, but that seems quite complicated.”
Reports claim Messi is being lined up for a world-record £357million switch to the Etihad in January.
Lionel Messi is out of contract at the end of the season.
And despite Barcelona claiming an agreement has been struck, Messi is yet to put pen-to-paper on the deal.
