Game of thrones

From the moment the #GameOfThrones series ends with Season 8 in 2019, one thing lovers of the show can be sure of is that it won’t be the last time of seeing Westeros. As a matter of fact, there’s already one #GameOfThrones spinoff happening at the moment that will help viewers curb their cravings for season 8.

There is a #GameOfThrones behind-the-scene series that HBO plans to be aired through all their streaming platforms with the first episode available on YouTube. T series will feature interviews with actors and also take a look at how the world of Westeros came to be.

Furthermore, HBO has confirmed that they are developing four different spinoff ideas. With the world of #GameOfThrones rich with characters and stories, it won’t be any surprise. There are numerous storylines to explore, adventures to go on and magic to discover.

While it is simply devastating for lovers of #GameOfThrones not to have any new episodes to look forward to till 2019, there are possibilities that a number of spinoffs will come up to fill the void. Here are a number of storylines that can serve as spinoffs for #GameOfThrones.

Robert’s Rebellion

Robert baratheon
The events that led to Robert Baratheon becoming king of the seven kingdoms years before #GameOfThrones began is Robert’s Rebellion. Before Robert’s Rebellion, the Targaryens were on the throne and ruled Westeros, but when Rhaegar Targaryen stole away Lyanna Stark who was betrothed to Robert, he reached his breaking point and challenged the crown.

Robert won and became king but we only got to know in season 7 finale that Jon Snow is the son of Rhaegar and Lyanna who were married, indicating they must have actually cared about one another. This points to the fact that the story is probably more complex and would be worth seeing.

The Making of the Night King

The night king game of thrones
This storyline will be based more on fantasy than most of #GameOfThrones. So far, viewers have learnt quite a bit about the White Walkers, such as the fact that they were created by the Children of the Forest to fight humans and their attempt to invade Westeros before, but thanks to the hero Azor Ahai, the White Walkers were pushed from the region beyond the Wall.

Having a spinoff to show the intricate details in the history of Westeros would definitely recommend worth HBO’S time, especially depending on the way the finale of #GameOfThrones ends.

Dance With Dragons
This is the title of the 5th book in the Song of Ice and Fire series and it chronicles the civil war that happened about 200 years before Game of Thrones. It depicts infighting over the rights to the throne that happened early on in the Targaryen dynasty between King Viserys I’s second wife, Alicent, and his daughter, Princess Rhaenyra, which led to an upset within the Seven Kingdoms.

George R.R Martin has already published a novella going into the specifics of the war called The Princess and the Queen. He also writes about the moments leading up to the war in another novella, The Rogue Prince.

The Conquest Of Aegon

Perhaps, the biggest elements of #GameOfThrones are war and the dragons. Any spinoff that will talk about the conqueat of Aegon will surely deliver war and dragons in droves.

Aegon I was the first king of Westeros after he united the seven kingdoms under one ruler for the first time. Before this, the Targaryens were the lords of Valyria. All the intricacies of his conquest and the events leading up to his takeover would make for an intriguing spinoff.

Personally, id love to see a spinoff centered around Robert’s Rebellion storyline, especially given the stories that surrounds Jon Snow’s lineage. Lots of secrets will be revealed and more of the Targaryens I’ll have screen time.

Which spinoff would you most like to see?
