Gennady Golovkin has tagged his fight with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarev on Saturday, as one of the biggest in the history of boxing.

The pre-fight press conference held in Las Vegas om Wednesday , brought the two fighters face-to-face ahead of their highly anticipated bout.

Golovkin is looking to maintain his perfect record of 37-0 , as he defends his middleweight belts against Canelo.

“I saw Canelo; he is ready for serious business, for a serious fight,” he said.

“This is the biggest fight for us and for boxing. It’s a historic fight and I don’t believe it is the last for us.”

Alvarez, who is a three-weight world champion, has lost just once since turning professional in 2005 – a majority points decision defeat to Floyd Mayweather four years ago.

“I have nothing to say to [Golovkin],” said the 27-year-old Mexican. “They know what kind of fighter I am.

“I’m prepared, I’m ready. All I want to tell him is let’s give the fans a great fight.”
