Flavoured Vodkas That Everyone Can Make And Enjoy At Home

More and more flavoured vodkas are making their ways to bars and clubs, and this makes it incredibly easy for you to infuse your own flavour into you favourite drink. Flavoured vodkas such as cotton candy or smoked salmon seem to be mainstream but vodka infused with things like fruit or spices is a breeze, that is cheaper and more palatable to the palate than a lot of other stuffs you will find in stores.

All you need to make a good flavoured drink is a big bottle of cheap vodka and a few hours to burn. Here are five super easy recipes that you can make and enjoy at home.

Grapefruit Vodkas
This drink is versatile in cocktails and usually lacks the citrus essence of grapefruits. You can try it in a simple Vodka Soda with a spritz of the fruit itself or mix it with tonic and discover your new.

To make this drink, Zest two large grapefruits and try to get as little of the pith as possible. Add the grapefruit peels to a bottle vodka. Cap it tightly and give it a quick shake.  Allow it infuse for 24 hrs and strain. To get even more flavour, keep the peels in the bottle, tasting every hour or so until it’s up to the requirements of your palate.

Vanilla Vodkas
This vanilla inspired drink is toasty and packed with real vanilla flavour, that is similar to the taste of a vanilla sponge cake but without all the sugar. You can try it in a Chocolate Martini or just sip it on the rocks.

Split one vanilla bean and add the split bean to a bottle of vodka. Cap tightly and give it a quick shake. Allow it to infuse for 24 hrs and strain. The vanilla is usually very potent and there won’t be a need for you to leave it in the bottle any longer, except you are exceptionally in love with vanilla.

Pineapple Vodkas
You may just get drunk without having an intention to with this fruity infused drink, which is why you have to be cautious. The drink is very smooth and round and is best mixed with seltzer.

First Peel, core and chop one small pineapple, then add the pineapple chunks to a bottle of vodka. You may need to pour out some of the drink to make room for the pineapple chunks. Cap the bottle and give it a quick shake. Allow to infuse for 24 hours and strain. If you don’t find the drink fruity enough, leave the pineapple in the bottle and taste every hour until you have the sweet and tropical taste you desire.

Fennel Vodkas
This crisp, fresh and vegetal drink has a touch of sweetness. It is best stores in the freezer and served in ice cold shots with food or mixed with tonic.

To make this drink, cut fronds off a fennel bulb and add a hefty handful of the fennel fronds to a bottle of vodka. Cap it tightly and give it a quick shake. Allow to infuse for 24 hours and strain. The fennel is mild, and you can leave it in your drink longer, though it won’t get any much stronger.

Jalapeño Vodkas
This Bright and vegetal drink is spicy and will give you a slight burn at the back of your throat. It is a racy drink, similar to a dirty Martini but with the addition of pickled jalapeño juice replacing the usual olive.

Slice and seed one jalapeño fruit, ensuring you make use of gloves if you have sensitive hands. Add the pepper slices into a bottle of vodka. Cap tightly and give it a quick shake. Allow to infuse for 24 hrs and strain. If you’re interested in making your drink spicier, keep the peppers in the bottle and taste every hour until it reaches your desired level of heat.
