West Brom are interested in signing Tottenham defender Kevin Wimmer.
They haven’t yet made an official bid, but the Baggies have approached Spurs to ask whether they are prepared to sell. The news comes after Manchester City saw an £18m bid for Jonny Evans rejected.
Pulis is adamant he doesn’t want to lose his captain, and is keen on strengthening his defensive options whether or not Evans stays.
Stoke City also enquired about Wimmer’s availability earlier in the window, but withdrew their interest after the £7m signing of Bruno Martins Indi from Porto.
Signed for £4.3 million from FC Koln in May 2015, Wimmer made only four Premier League starts under Mauricio Pochettino last season. His departure suggests that Spurs could be making progress in their attempts to sign Davinson Sanchez from Ajax.
Albion completed the signing of Gareth Barry from Everton this week, while Jay Rodriguez and Ahmed Hegazi joined earlier in the summer.
