Stoke have rejected an offer from Newcastle for striker Joselu.
Joselu has played just 22 games for the Potters since arriving from Hannover two summers ago.
The Spaniard spent last season on loan at Deportivo.
Joselu’s time at Stoke City had appeared to be coming to an end and the club was keen to sell after he was farmed out on a season-long loan to Deportivo La Coruna in 2016/17.
But boss Mark Hughes is pondering a change of heart after seeing the 27 year-old Spaniard bag those four goals out of the blue… and at a time when his other players are struggling for goals.
Joselu’s upturn in fortunes not only followed last season’s exile, but also the recent death of his father and his subsequent late return to England to join Stoke’s pre-season preparations.
Joselu cost City £5.75m move from Hannover two years ago.
