A 26-year-old housewife, Siti Halimah Mahamud was in labour, in an Uber on her way to a hospital in Singapore, when her water broke.
In a statement, she explained that she had wanted to call for an ambulance right after, but the Uber arrived before she could dial the hospital. The driver, Danny Chong, picked up the pregnant woman and her sister-in-law and after a 20 minute ride, just minutes away from the hospital, he heard Siti cry out “pain, pain” and then the baby was delivered.
The baby’s place of birth was later recorded as the Ayer Rajah Expressway, the road the car was on when she was born.
Uber gifted Halimah $220 worth of Uber credits, and a congratulatory hamper.
