Newcastle chief Rafa Benitez is ready to raid his former club to sign Real Madrid‘s Lucas Vasquez, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 26 year-old is a product of Madrid’s successful youth academy and has been at the club for 10 years, though he has found starting opportunities limited at the Bernabeu and may welcome a chance to prove his ability in the Premier League.
Lucas Vasquez began last season being a key player for Zinedine Zidane and the first man off the bench whenever Gareth Bale or even Cristiano Ronaldo were out. However, he wasn’t even on the bench for the Champions League Final against Juventus as Marco Asensio’s emergence as a star sent him out of the rotation.
Vázquez departure is not a priority for Real Madrid but if finally they receive a good offer, or they sign Mbappé, the sale of the Galician player can be a good idea because he will play even less minutes.
