Matias Vecino will undergo a medical ahead of a move to Inter Milan after Fiorentina gave the Uruguayan midfielder permission to travel to San Siro.
The 25-year-old, who made 31 league appearances for the Viola last term, scoring three goals, is the subject of a bid from Inter which meets his contract’s release clause.
A statement from Fiorentina on Monday said the Serie A club had authorised the player to attend a medical prior to the completion of any transfer.
“Fiorentina announce that FC Inter Milan have decided to match Matias Vecino’s release clause. Therefore, we allow the player to undergo his medical tests ahead of a move to Inter”,
Matias Vecino developed his game with loan spells at Cagliari and Empoli, has been a key part of the Tuscany-based side’s midfield over the last two seasons, racking up 61 Serie A appearances out of a possible 76.
