Before you go further, this article contains major Spoilers for game of Thrones which happens to be everyone’s favourite television show at the moment. It’s not too early to get excited about the return of Game of Thrones which will be in its 7th season. With the end of the show in sight, here are all the Plot leaks and theories you need to know for the seventh and eight season of the show.
Season 7 is expected to premier on July 16 which is a deviation from its usual debut time of early April since its inception. Filming wrapped in February with Emilia Clarke who plays the role of Daenerys Targaryen hinting at the possibility of a huge battle ahead between the living and the undead White Walkers. The White Walkers are also expected to play a major role, especially the Night King.
The show’s teasers sees Daenerys and Tyrion having new looks and Hodor also featuring in the teasers, even though the possibility of coming back from the dead is next to zero.
Who’s Part Of The Cast?
Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion), Lena Headey (Cersei), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime) all reportedly signed up for a seventh season as fat back as 2014 and we’re all reportedly paid $1.1million (£885,000) per episode! Sophie Turner (Sansa), Maisie Williams (Arya), Iain Glen (Ser Jorah) and Joseph Mawle (Benjen Stark) are also expected to return.
House Mormont’s bad-ass ruler, Lady Lyanna (Bella Ramsey), is also back and she may just team up with the Wilding, Tormund (Kristofer Hivju).
Ed Sheeran is also expected to make a guest appearance on the show, following in the footsteps of other musicians like Coldplay’s Will Champion and Sigur Rós and Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody. Ed Sheeran is expected to feature in a small scene where he would captivate Arya Stark.
Which Characters Would Be Killed Off In Season 7?
With the season 8 of Game of Thrones already confirmed to have just six episodes, the final season will be much shorter than viewers expect. Any follower of the show knows that even the most important characters can die suddenly and season 7 may not be an exception.
With the Starks having gone through a lot of tragedies, everyone hopes the surviving children make it to the final lap. Same may however not be said of the Lannisters as any of Cersei and Jaime may bite the dust.
With a lot of the characters dying unexpectedly, all the remaining characters by default are expected to carry enough dramatic weight till the end.
What Will Happen In The Final Episodes Of Season 7?
The end of season 6 saw Jon Snow appointed the King in the North, while Bran revealed to us all that his brother Jon Snow is not Ned Stark’s bastard, but the offspring of Lyanna Stark and some other man which is most likely the deceased older brother of Daenerys, Rhaegar Targaryen.
As Daenerys sets sail for Westeros with her combined forces of the Dothraki, unsullied, the Ironborn, Tyrion, Varys, Olenna Tyrell and the dragons all by her side, a major showdown is in the offing. She will most likely take back the castle at Dragonstone, a fortress built by her House Targaryen and the place where she was born before the Rebellion that brought Robert Targaryen to power.
There’s also a speculation that Cersei Lannister might meet her end at Jon Snow’s hand – or that The Hound might (indirectly) be responsible for her downfall. Whatever the case may be, fans would be delighted to witness the demise of the Queen that was responsible for the sorrows of many.
Daenerys may also face off with Jon Snow, except she marries him as part of an incestuous relationship. The long awaited face off between the Hound and his brother, the mountain may also come to pass, and this may result in the end of both powerful brothers.
Rumours also suggests Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbaek) will clash with his niece and nephew Yara and Theon Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan and Alfie Allen). There should also be a major fight with the White Walkers.
With rising speculation that Sansa Stark will turn on Jon Snow and become and ally of Littlefinger, season 7 will bring a lot of fireworks. Jorah Mormont who has been travelling around to get a cure to his greyscale disease may also have a cure this season and be reunited with his beloved Khaleesi.
Jon Snow will also likely have an altercation with Theon Greyjoy this season as both were snapped engaging in a violent altercation. Theon may finally get redemption after the numerous phases he has had to pass through.
Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark) have also been spotted on-set together, w may imply a reunion for both siblings who have been estranged since season one.
