Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer confirms he’s close to signing Ajax defender Jairo Riedewald and also has the latest on Calum Chambers.
Reports emerged at the start of the week that the 20-year-old Ajax defender was having a medical and would be unveiled as an Eagle.
He would become Frank de Boer’s second signing as Palace boss, following Ruben Loftus-Cheek who arrived on a season-long loan.
And on Friday, De Boer told reporters in Hong Kong ahead of his team’s Asia Trophy clash with West Brom that Riedewald is close to becoming his second signing at the club.
“It’s not 100 per cent done so we have to wait [for Riedewald]. Hopefully it is going to be a very short time,” he said.
When asked about reports he had made a £16m bid for Arsenal right-back Calum Chambers De Boer refused to comment. “I have nothing to say about this case,” he said.
