Culture critic, contributing editor with 360NoBS.com and all round great guy, Wilfred Okiche has been announced as one of the 30 participants of the Talents Durban and Talents Press programme for the 2017 Durban International Film Festival (DIFF).
Okiche who contributes music and film reviews regularly to 360nobs will be joining other film critics in the Talent Press programme to cover films and events featured at the Durban Festival taking place in South Africa.
Talent Press is an association of national organizations of professional film critics and film journalists from around the world, in collaboration with FIPRESCI, which lobbies for the promotion and development of film culture.
Okiche was invited as one of four critics to cover DIFF films and events for online and print publications following a rigorous selection process. 26 filmmakers, – including Nigeria’s Belinda Yanga,- from 19 countries across the continent made the cut
The 38th Durban International Film Festival is organised by the Centre for Creative Arts at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
Presented under the theme, Perspective: Seeing Things Differently, the 10th Talents Durban aims to boost the already rising flow of contemporary filmmaking in Africa, and to encourage filmmakers on the continent to share their stories through the lens of their own particular culture
