7 Movies You Should Make Out Time To Watch Before The End Of May

Movie lovers spent the most of April and better part of May enjoying the Fast paced action of The Fate of the Furious which made it gross an easy $1 billion so far.

Asides the Fast and the Furious, few films were able to garner that much and connect with movie lovers worldwide. Some movies like Colossal and The Circle had less prominent releases but are still worthy of mention.

May however brought a lot of promising movies that were mostly in the background, including some franchise movies that movie lovers have been waiting earnestly for.

Here are seven movies you should watch before the month runs out.

King Arthur: Legend of The Sword

The stories of King Arthur has been told time and time again on television and movie screens over the years and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword takes it a step further by providing new updates to the classic story. Charlie Hunnam takes on the role of King Arthur and Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey as Guinevere. The movie is loosely based on the original story and serves as an origin story for Arthur, who is unaware of his royal lineage until he encounters Excalibur. Despite appearing to be a box office fail, making $97.1 million dollars from a budget of $175 million dollars, it is still worthy of view this month given the fact that it has an engaging plot that follows the epic events that happened in the days of Camelot.

Everything, Everything

This romantic drama follows Maddy (Amandla Stenberg), a smart, curious and imaginative 18-year-old who is unable to leave the protection of the hermetically-sealed environment within her house because of an illness which becomes challenging when she falls in love with the boy next door. The movie is an adaptation based on the eponymous 2015 young-adult novel by Nicola Yoon and is sure to elicit tears and deep feelings.

Snatched

Snatched stars Amy Schumer, Oscar winner Goldie Hawn, and Joan Cusack, Ike Barinholtz, Wanda Sykes and Christopher Meloni in supporting roles, follows the story of a mother and daughter who are abducted while on vacation in South America. Goldie Hawn stars as the mother of Schumer’s character, and the pair find themselves kidnapped during a tropical vacation. Directed by Jonathan Levine, the movie is a fast-paced comedy adventure with a lot of humour you’re bound to love.

The Wall

The Wall stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson and John Cena, as Allan “Ize” Isaac and Shane Matthews who find themselves badly injured and forced to take cover behind a crumbling stone wall, while fighting for survival against an unseen sniper who has all of the advantages. What appears to be the selling point of the movie is its director, Doug Liman who is known for directing the science fiction movie, Edge of Tomorrow in 2014. The movie is worth the watch and is bound to keep you at the edge of your seat.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2

The first part of this movie proved to everyone that Marvel Studios have a lot of good will from fans for them to risk a sequel with more transformed characters which includes Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot and Rocket Raccoon into names movie lovers have come to love. Writer and director James Gunn returned to the helms and continues the story in a way that lives up to its prequel. The first part released in 2014 saw Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Baby Groot live up to their roles as Guardians of the Galaxy and this continues with more fun and excitement as new characters are added.

Alien: Covenant


Director, Ridley Scott known for Gladiator and the first part of the movie Prometheus, makes his way back to the series that started way back in the late 1970’s. This part follows the crew of the Covenant as it lands on an uncharted planet, where unspeakable terror is unleashed. Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace reprise their roles from the prequel, with the former playing the role of a new android, alongside Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Jussie Smollet and Danny McBride who all provide a movie that is bound to captivate you.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales


The last movie from the franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides grossed over $1 billion at the worldwide box office gross, which signalled the fact that Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow was far from done with going on adventures and pillaging on the high-seas. Six years on, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (Salazar’s revenge) makes its way back to the cinemas. Javier Bardem plays the role of the villainous Captain Salazar, just as Orlando Bloom makes his way back as Will Turner. This part recaptures the magic that made us all fall in love with the franchise.
