Tony Pulis is ramping up his summer transfer plans at West Brom after making a scouting mission to check on Sporting Lisbon’s £25m-rated William Carvalho, the Daily Telegraph reports.
The defensive midfielder has also been a reported target of Arsenal and Liverpool, with Pulis keen to rival the Premier League’s top clubs for his signature.
Carvalho impressed for Portugal at Euro 2016 and played the full 120 minutes in the final as hosts France were beaten 1-0.
Albion are targeting another defensive midfielder this summer and it will require a record-breaking offer to land the 25-year-old.
Pulis is still assessing potential signings ahead of his meeting with owner Guochuan Lai next month, where he is likely to discover the size of his budget.
