Juventus Confirm Signing Of Rodrigo Bentancur For £8million From Boca Juniors

Juventus have confirmed the signing of Uruguayan teenager Rodrigo Bentancur.

The midfielder, who was linked with Real Madrid in the past, will join Juve in the summer after the Serie A giants struck a deal, worth €9.5m, with Boca Juniors.

A statement on Juventus’ website read: “Juventus are pleased to announce the completion of the transfer of Rodrigo Bentancur from Boca Juniors, the Uruguayan signing on a five-year deal from 1 July 2017 until 30 June 2022.”

Rodrigon Bentancur, penned a five-year-deal at the Turin club and will officially become a Juventus player on July 1.

Juventus negotiated a purchase option on Bentancur when striker Carlos Tevez returned from Italy in June 2015.

Boca will receive 50 per cent of any future transfer fee for the Uruguayan playmaker, who is a product of the team’s academy, as part of the deal.

‘The purchase value may increase in the course of the duration of the contract on achieving given conditions based on a certain number of official games played by the player,’ Juve confirmed on their website.
