Bristol City striker Tammy Abraham’s value has “shot up” since his loan move from Chelsea, says boss Lee Johnson.
The teenage striker has netted 22 goals in the Sky Bet Championship this season, a feat made all the more impressive by the fact that the Robins have been struggling in the lower reaches of the table for much of the campaign.
“I think he’s (Abraham) been a fantastic signing for us. We appreciate it from Chelsea, but we’ve done well for Tammy and Chelsea.
“The market value has shot up on him, if they ever want to sell him, but also we’ve helped develop him. That only comes from Tammy being such a good lad and working as hard as he has. This will be an unbelievable learning curve for him.”
Abraham opened the scoring for Bristol City in their 1-1 draw away to Blackburn on Monday.
The Robins are currently 18th in the Championship table and host Barnsley on Saturday.
