Chelsea are watching the progress of Atalanta’s 23-year-old right-back Andrea Conti, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Scouts from the Premier League leaders have been in Italy to watch him close up and he scored the opening goal in a 5-0 victory over Genoa at the weekend.
Inter and Napoli are also reportedly interested in the full-back.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Conti’s performances this season have almost certainly earned him a move to a bigger club, with Internazionale and Napoli keen, Sevilla interested, and Chelsea making regular treks to Bergamo to check on his progress.
The Atalanta hierarchy seem to be resigned to losing the former Italian Under-21 star and will demand at least £15million.
The 24-year-old can easily operate as a traditional right-back or in Conte’s tried and trusted wing-back system and provide competition for the reborn Victor Moses, who has excelled in his new wing-back role.
Mario Giuffredi, Conti’s agent, has already confirmed Chelsea and Inter Milan are keen on landing the defender this summer.
