Bayern Munich could make a surprise move in the summer transfer window by signing former Tottenham midfielder Paulinho, according to RMC Sport.
The Brazil international left Spurs in 2015 to join Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande, where he still plays.
The 28-year-old could be brought in as a potential replacement for centre midfielder Xabi Alonso, who recently announced he will retire at the end of this season.
Carlo Ancelotti reportedly wants to sign the Brazil international due to his ability to play in an offensive or defensive midfield role.
Guangzhou, however, are unlikely to want to part with one of their star men and he signed a contract extension until December 2020 back in January to increase any fee Bayern would be forced to pay for his services.
