Barcelona managerial target Ernesto Valverde has decided to leave Athletic Bilbao at the end of the season, reports AS.
Valverde, who has been in charge of Athletic since 2013, has been tipped to succeed outgoing Barca boss Luis Enrique at the Nou Camp this summer.
His contract at Athletic expires at the end of the season and he has opted against renewing his deal.
Club president Josu Urrutia is aware of Valverde’s decision and will try to convince him to reconsider his stance.
Valverde, meanwhile, is adamant that he will not listen to any offers from elsewhere until his contract ends on June 30.
Sevilla are also understood to have an interest in talking to him should Jorge Sampaoli, as expected, leave the Andalucians to take over the Argentina national team.
