Former Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka could become the next coach of the Algeria national team, reports Marca.
Karanka, who left Boro last month, has also reportedly received offers from various unnamed clubs in England, Spain, China and the USA, but he has not yet made a decision over his future.
However, Algerian website dzfoot.com posted a tweet linking the 43-year-old with the position.
The post, when translated into English, read: “We proclaim in the conditional, of course, but the next coach of the Algeria would be Aitor Karanka.”
Algeria are looking for new manager following Georges Leekens’ resignation in January.
He left his position after the nation’s early exit from the Africa Cup of Nations.
