Zidane: Mbappe Said No To Real Madrid For Monaco

Zinedine Zidane has revealed Monaco hotshot, Kylian Mbappe rejected a chance to join Madrid for a spot at Monaco.

Zidane spoke with the French youngster in 2013, about the possibility of him joining the youth ranks, but he instead joined Monaco.

Mbappe made his debut in 2015 and has gone on to score more than 10 goals this season as an 18-year-old besting the likes of Thierry Henry, Eden Hazard and Karim Benzema.

“He almost signed for Real Madrid but then he went to Monaco,” he said.

“I can’t speak about this. We know he’s a good player, what he’s doing at his age is fantastic, but that’s it. What I’m interested in is what we are going to do tomorrow. But he was about to sign here, yes.”
