Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants striker Karim Benzema to stay at the club for the foreseeable future.
Benzema, who joined Madrid from Lyon in 2009, has over two years left on his current deal at the Bernabeu.
Club president Perez is a big fan of the Frenchman and wants him to stay in the Spanish capital for many years to come.
“Karim [Benzema]? For me he is the best No.9 in the world,” he toldRadio Montecarlo. “He plays very well and it’s difficult to find a player like him.”
When asked about a new contract for the forward, he replied: “At this moment, for me he is going to stay here forever.
“But now we do not speak of this. If it’s up to me, I am sure that he is going to stay here all his life.”
