The Spaniard’s future at the Bernabeu is unclear – his contract expires next year and he is yet to decide if he will extend his deal in the Spanish capital.
His situation has caught the attention of several clubs across Europe, with reports claiming Manchester City are poised to step up their long-standing interest in the former Malaga man. City were close to landing him in 2013 before he joined Real Madrid.
However, City may have to fend off competition from PSG, whose manager Unai Emery is keen on the playmaker.
According to L’Equipe, the player’s father and agent Paco Alarcon has already met with PSG club chiefs to initiate contacts ahead of a possible transfer.
