Gamaliel AKA GOC, the boy from University of Port-Harcourt who moved to Lagos after a chance meeting with MI Abaga, (after the rapper invited him on stage to perform at a show on campus), has released his first single called “Moda”, to commemorate Mothers’ day.
The percussion led mid tempo track dotted with light horns over laid with a low pitched flute which adds a sense of nostalgia to the sound, is reminiscent of music from the south-south region of Nigeria, mixed with contemporary pop music to make it an urban radio friendly groove.
GOC sings with a cautious, even toned voice throughout the song; almost mimicking the way a mother would speak to a child reassuring him of her love after being disciplined.
“Moda” is released independently and was produced by hit maker DonL37.
