Jose Mourinho believes Bournemouth defender, Tyrone Mings was aware of what he did, as he stepped on Ibrahimovic’s head in the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
Both players clashed a lot during the course of the match, with Ibrahimovic catching Mings with an elbow after the incident.
The pair were not sent off for their antics by the referee and Mourinho was relucant to discuss the incidents at length after the final whistle.
“I’m a football man, I’m in football many years, I don’t like to speak after matches about what happened during matches. What happened, happened and the referee was there,” he told Sky Sports when asked about the incident after the game.
“If you ask me if I’m happy that Tyrone Mings gets a three or four or five match ban, I really don’t care about it. He knows what he did, he knows better than anyone what he did, he knows better than the referee his intention in the moment, in the emotion of the moment. I really don’t care.”
