Goalkeeper Miguel Angel Moya has signed a one year extension at Atletico Madrid, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2018. His current deal was due to expire in June.

Miguel Angel Moya arrived from Getafe in the summer of 2014 as a replacement for Thiabut Courtois at the Vicente Calderon after the Belgian returned to parent club Chelsea.
Moya has erved as a back-up to Jan Oblak since the start of last season, but remains an important squad player all the same after playing nine La Liga games, six Copa del Rey games and once in the Champions League so far in 2016/17.

“I’m happy because I’m where I want to be,” Moya told Atletico’s official website.

Sporting director José Luis Pérez Caminero added, “It is great news for the club. This is a very experienced goalkeeper who has proven himself when he is needed by the team. He is an excellent team-mate and a very important player for the club.”
