Chelsea summer target James Rodriguez now looks likely to stay at Real Madrid, according to Marca.
The Colombian wants to extend his contract with Los Blancos in the summer and believes the departure of Spanish playmaker Isco, who wants more first-team football, could play a part.
Speaking after he had returned to the starting XI at Eibar on Saturday, scoring one goal and playing a role in three more during Madrid’s 4-1 La Liga win, the 25-year-old said that his aim was to remain at the club “forever” although he knew that sometimes in football things could happen beyond your control.
“Always when I get a chance [to play] I try and do well,” James said. “That is all I have in mind. I want to stay here [Madrid] forever. You must be aware that in life and in football you never what will happen, but I want to stay here.”
