Bruno Martins Indi has revealed he is in talks to make his loan move to Stoke permanent at the end of the season.
“We are talking to each other, the club and me. I have the intention to stay. We want to see what is going to happen,” the 25-year-old told Sky Sports News HQ.
“I was following Stoke City before I was here and I knew the way the manager wants to play. He gave me a lot of confidence to come here and he trusted me, I happy that I could give him that back.”
Despite Stoke being 11 points behind the seventh-placed Toffees, Martins Indi is relishing the challenge of attempting to catch Ronald Koeman’s side.
“That’s the biggest challenge for us,” he said. “We’re going to get there, it’s going to be difficult, but it’s a project I really like and I want to see how far we can go.
“We’re are now on a good run and we’re confident. People inside the club have already spoke about seventh, it’s a very good aim to get there and it’s going to be difficult.
“We just have to focus game by game and get the points.”
