Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez has said that the Catalan giants wants both Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi to stay at Camp Nou “for many years to come”.
Iniesta anad Messi are close to entering the final 12 months of his contract with Barcelona, and it is understood that talks over an extension are yet to take place.
Fernandez has insisted there’s nothing to be concerned about, per Cadena Ser :
[Messi] will renew, as I’ve always said. He is happy in Barcelona, he feels comfortable in the team and the environment is perfect. I don’t have any doubt [that he’ll sign a new deal]. Looking into his eyes I see that he is happy at Barcelona.
I don’t want to speak too much, though, as I know that there are many repercussions with this topic.
[Iniesta] will also renew and he’ll do it in his own time. I have no doubt that he’ll renew and neither does he.
Leo Messi has scored 40+ goals in a season for eight years in a row! 😱
