Andres Iniesta will wait until the end of the season before resuming contract talks with Barcelona, reports Mundo Deportivo.
Barca recently secured the long-term future of Ivan Rakitic until 2021 and they want to sort out new deals for the first-team trio of Lionel Messi, Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Iniesta in the coming months.
Iniesta received a proposal from the club to extend his stay at the Camp Nou from 2018 to 2020 a few weeks ago but he wants to leave contract negotiations until the end of the season.
The World Cup winner is currently focused on helping Barca secure a domestic and European treble.
Earlier this season, the midfielder declared he wouldn’t stick around if he felt he wasn’t worth his place.
“If I feel I can not contribute as a player, I will be the first one who will feel bad for the club,” he said.
