France forward Alexandre Lacazette has agreed to join Atletico Madrid next season, reports Cadena COPE.
The Lyon man, who has been coveted by the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal, will join Atletico Madrid in the summer as long as their FIFA-imposed transfer ban is lifted.
According to COPE, Lacazette and his agent David Benditelli met Atleti CEO Miguel Angel Gil in Madrid last month and reached a verbal agreement to join the Spanish capital club in the summer.
Lacazette rejected offers from elsewhere last summer but has decided this summer is the right time to leave Lyon.
The move is dependent on Atletico being able to overturn their current transfer ban, which is restricting them from signing players for the next two windows.
Atletico have appealed FIFA’s sanction and the Court of Arbitration for Sport will give their verdict on April 24.
