Alexandra Pato has hinted that Chinese Super League club Tianjin Quanjian could try to sign Diego Costa in the summer.
Pato, who spent part of last season on loan at Chelsea, made the move from Villarreal to Tianjin during the January transfer window.
Costa, meanwhile, was linked heavily with a move to China earlier this year, although he ended up staying put at Stamford Bridge.
Pato, speaking to Marca, was asked about the possibility of linking up again with Costa in China and said: “I was already Diego Costa’s team-mate at Chelsea. He’s a good team-mate, he could help us a lot. But we do not know anything. What I think is that this summer I am sure that we are going to sign an important player, a high-level [player].
“Diego Costa? I do not know. I limit myself to playing. The person who occupies himself with these things is [coach] Fabio Cannavaro, along with the president.”
