Marcelo Bielsa will manage Lille next season after agreeing a two-year deal at the French club.
Franck Passi was named this month as the replacement for interim Lille coach Patrick Collot, but will hand over to Bielsa at the end of the current season.
“Marcelo Bielsa is undoubtedly one of the most respected and influential coaches in the world and being able to bring him to Lille is very satisfying, and is proof of the ambition of our club,” said Lille director Marc Ingla.
Nicknamed ‘El Loco’ (The Crazy One) for his unorthodox coaching style, Bielsa was linked with a second spell in charge of Argentina’s national team last year after quitting as Lazio boss just two days into the job.
The experienced 61-year-old has been without a club since his short Serie A post.
