Manchester United are tracking £10m-rated Sao Paolo defender Lyanco, who has also attracted the interest of Juventus and Atletico Madrid, the Daily Mirror reports.
It is also believed that Juve have already tabled a €5m (around £4.3m) bid for the 20-year-old’s signature.
United are expected to have a busy summer transfer window once again after failing to compete for the Premier League title.
Jose Mourinho has already spent £150m at Old Trafford since taking over from Louis van Gaal.
Lyanco isn’t the only defender United have been linked with as Benfica ace Victor Lindelof was rumoured to be joining the Red Devils in January.
No move ended up materialising but it remains to be seen if Mourinho renews his interest at the end of the season.
