Liverpool are looking to rival Manchester United for Nottingham Forest youngster Ben Brereton, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 17-year-old striker opened his Forest account on Saturday with a last-gasp winner against Aston Villa.
Liverpool reportedly had a £2.5m bid rejected for Ben Brereton late in the January transfer window.
They will continue to monitor the teenager, who is also attracting interest from Manchester United , with a view to a summer move.
Liverpool have reportedly earmarked Brereton as one of their future stars and they want the striker to link up with Ben Woodburn at Anfield.
