Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer says there has been “no contact” with Man City boss Pep Guardiola about a possible move to the Etihad.
The pair worked together during Guardiola’s three-year spell in charge of the Bavarians and the Germany international has reportedly been linked with a reunion with his former manager in recent weeks.
However, speaking at this afternoon’s press conference ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League last-16 clash with Arsenal, Neuer said he is “happy” with life at the Allianz Arena.
“No contact. Pep has my phone number and hasn’t called. I’m happy here,” said the 30-year-old.
Asked about Arsene Wenger’s choice between Petr Cech and David Ospina, the German number-one said it wouldn’t change the scale of the challenge:
“That’s difficult to say. Both goalkeepers have been doing a great job. They’re both great goalkeepers who both deservedly play at Arsenal and I think the coach has the choice and tries to divide it in a fair way. Cech might be the more known name, but Ospina has done a very good job and we know that whichever goalkeeper we play against, it will be a good one.”
