Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote has joined Chinese League One side Beijing Enterprises Group FC.
The 30-year old Ivory Coast international has only appeared once in the Championship this season for Newcastle and travelled to Beijing over the weekend to agree terms and undergo a medical.
Cheick had offers from Sporting Gijon and Premier League sides during January but has opted on a move to China instead.
No details of the deal were given by Beijing when making the announcement via the club’s social media outlets.
Cheick Tiote is Beijing’s major signing of the window as the club attempts to gain promotion to the top division.
