Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of Bayer Leverkusen defender Omer Toprak ahead of next season.
Dortmund have paid the release clause for the Turkish defender, reported to be €12 million. The centre-back has signed a four-year deal with the Bundesliga club.
Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc is hopeful he can make a real impact at the Westfalenstadion.
“Omer Toprak is a strong defender with international experience and great leadership qualities,” he said in a club statement.
Toprak will now turn his attention to drive Leverkusen up the Bundesliga table as well as their upcoming Champions League last-16 tie against Atletico Madrid.
