Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has confirmed that youngster Dominic Solanke wants to leave the club.
The 19-year-old’s contract will expire in the summer and a new contract is yet to be agreed and Liverpool are interested in the striker.
Solanke, who is a product of Chelsea’s academy has only made one appearance for the top team.
“I think [he will leave], I am not sure, but I think this is his will,” Conte said at a news conference at Cobham Training Centre. “It is best to ask him why. For me, it is very difficult to answer this question because I have only been working with Chelsea for seven months.
“I think for a young player to play in a great team like Chelsea is a great opportunity. I have spoken with him to try to understand his decision. It is normal. We must have a great respect for every decision.
“His contract expires in June and he has the choice to stay with Chelsea or to go away. I wish him and his family the best.”
