BREAKING: Fulani Herdsmen Kill 20 In Fresh Southern Kaduna Attacks

About 20 persons have been reported killed by armed gunmen suspected to be Fulani Herdsmen in the early hours of Monday morning.

Sahara Reporters gathered that the heavily armed herdsmen raided about four different locations between Sunday evening and the early hours of Monday, February 20, 2017.

It is understood that the killings took place in Bakin Kogi, Jema’a Local Government Area, Ashim and other villages in Kaura Local Government Area, where dozens of homes were also razed.

This is just as the herdsmen engaged soldiers and mobile policeman who had arrived the scene to repress the attack in fierce gun battles.

A senior military officer at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, revealed that if not for the firm resistance put up by soldiers and mobile policemen, the herdsmen would have burnt down all the villages attacked and killed more villagers in the area.

Leadership Newspaper also quoted the lawmaker, representing Kaura constituency at the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Dr. Yakubu Bityong as saying that the attackers had killed and destroyed many homes before the arrival of the security operatives.

Some of the casualties include, Chayuwai Manti 73, Ezekiel Kanwai 23, Bridget Aba 61, Bridget Samuila 42, Samuila Kuzamam 47,  Matthew Daniel 37, Edward Matthew 10,  Omega Matthew 8, Adam Noga 46, Moses Ndong 68, Likita Adam 12, Musa John  13, Mboi Waje 14 and Fidelis Kakah.
