Arsenal have made Napoli striker Lorenzo Insigne their No. 1 transfer target, reports The Sun.
The Gunners are understood to have sent scouts to watch the 25-year-old Italy international, who scored in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Chievo in Sunday.
The 25-year-old’s opener on the weekend was his eighth league goal of the campaign having registered six assists as Napoli sit third in Serie A.
The attacking midfielder is under contract at the club until 2019 but that won’t deter Gunners boss Arsene Wenger from launching an offer.
And according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Arsenal will hope to open talks over a potential deal in the near future.
Liverpool have been linked with the talented Italy international after the player’s agent was ready to make contact with the Reds to explore a deal.
Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is apparently demanding nothing less than an astronomical £44million which could deter Arsenal from making an offer.
