Manchester United are ready to bankroll the £130m summer signings of Antoine Griezmann and Victor Lindelof that Jose Mourinho feels will make them champions, the Daily Mail reports.
The club were heavily linked to both players during the January window, and it is thought the Portuguese manager is keen to once again get his business done early in the summer.
Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo have played plenty of games in central defence this season but Mourinho sees Lindelof as a significant upgrade.
He looked at buying the 22-year-old Sweden international last month but the deal was complicated by Benfica having to make a payment to Lindelof’s first club Vasteras.
As a result, his buyout clause rose from €40m (£34.5m) to €50m (£43m)
