In the statement, the Minister ordered the NBC to determine whether Multi-Choice had breached the Nigerian Broadcasting Code in any way by shooting the show in South Africa.

It also sought to attend to the issue of possible deceit, since the viewing public was never told that the event would be staged outside Nigeria.

”As a country of laws, only the outcome of the investigation will determine our next line of action,” he said.

Alhaji Mohammed said while concerned Nigerians have bombarded his office lines with calls to complain about what they regard as an irregularity with regards to the development, they should remain calm while the NBC investigates the issue and submits its findings.

Also lending voice on the matter, Channels Television correspondent, Seun Okin, tweeted:

“Big Brother Nigeria under check;FG orders NBC to investigate why show is being shot in South Africa”

This is just as TV Producer, Aderemi Ogunpitan stated that the lack of infrastructure is no excuse for filming Big Brother Naija in South Africa’.

Meanwhile, quite a number Nigerian netizens have continued to kick against the shooting of the TV reality series in South Africa.
