Lewandowski Backs Muller To Regain Scoring Touch

Robert Lewandowski is confident his Bayern Munich teammate, Thomas Muller will rediscover his form.

The Germany international scored only one goal in 13 Bundesliga appearances in the first half of the season and has not improved since returning after the mid season break.

However, Lewandowski sees no call for alarm, as he is certain Muller will find his deadly form soon enough.

“You do not lose your goal [scoring] instinct. It simply does not work that way. He is just going through a phase where he is lacking a bit of luck. But he will soon rediscover his form,” the Poland international told Munchner Merkur.

“Everybody expects Thomas to score at least 20 goals, but we should still be satisfied with what he has been doing. You cannot judge him solely on his goals. He is always working hard and when you do that, the goals will come eventually.

“It is important for a striker not too think about things too much. That never works. You always have to think about the next game and about scoring a goal again.”
