West Ham have delayed forward Jonathan Calleri’s move to Las Palmas, according to the LaLiga club’s president Miguel Angel Ramirez.
Calleri, who joined West Ham on a season-long loan from Deportivo Maldonado in August, has barely figured for the Hammers this term, managing just 152 minutes of Premier League action.
He has been tipped to cut his loan short at the London Stadium in order to sign for Las Palmas, who had hoped to secure his services over the weekend.
However, the 23-year-old netted in West Ham’s 3-1 win at Middlesbrough on Saturday and Las Palmas are unsure when they will complete the deal to sign him.
“[Jonathan] Calleri and Hernan Toledo are two players that interest [us]. We were expecting an answer from West Ham in order to make the Calleri thing (deal) official, but they have asked us for a few days,” Ramirez told Marca.
