Aitor Karanka says Middlesbrough have agreed a loan deal with Paris Saint-Germain for Jese Rodriguez and he is now trying to convince the forward to move to the Riverside.
The Boro boss worked with the 23-year-old at Real Madrid when he was assistant to Jose Mourinho and is keen on a reunion with his fellow Spaniard, who left the European champions in the summer to join PSG.
Jese Rodriguez joined PSG in a €25million deal in the summer but has failed to nail down a regular spot in Unai Emery’s starting XI and has started just once in Ligue 1.
Seeking to end his Parc de Princes nightmare, Jese didn’t train with PSG on Wednesday as his agent met with Middlesbrough representatives in order to thrash out a deal.
Liverpool were originally unveiled as one of the club’s competing for his signature by Las Palmas’ Ramirez, but it would appear Jurgen Klopp’s attempts to strengthen his squad for the second phase of the season have fallen short.
