HBO’s #GameofThrones is one show that has captivated audiences all around the world with a story and cast that everyone can’t help but love. Season 7 of #GameofThrones is expected to premiere later in the middle of 2017, as opposed to the usual month of April fans of the show are used to. While this may seem like sad news for lovers of the show, “Game of Thrones” Season 7 is still filming, and there haven’t been any spoilers revealed through official channels, there’s however some indications that Sansa Stark may give our dear Jon Snow some problems.
Will Sansa Go Dark On Jon?
Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) is a character a lot of us hated in Season 1, felt pity for from seasons 2 to 5, and loved in season 6. This hate-pity-love relationship is not about to end if suggestions from interviews with Sophie Turner is anything to go by. In a recent interview, Sophie Turner mentioned that Sansa Stark might be on the road to craving power as she just recently enjoyed her first little taste of power towards the end of season 6. It was however shortlived as she had the power taken away from her with the declaration of Jon Snow (Kit Harington) as King in the North. The dark side of Sansa Stark was further espoused in Sophie Turner’s interview with ‘Vulture’ where she suggested that Sansa will go dark. She stated that “This is so much more Dark Sansa. Now it’s really starting to feel like there is a dark side to her. She’s playing the game now, and very ruthlessly. When she wants something, she’s going to go out and get it.”
What’s The ‘Littlefinger’ Connection?
Petyr Baelish or Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) is one character everyone loves to hate. Littlefinger is sharp, witty and distrust everyone. He however seems to trust Sansa and that may however be his undoing. Sansa seems to be one of the few people that are aware of Littlefinger’s conspiracy to murder king Joffrey and also the murder of his wife, Lysa Arryn.
Sansa’s hold on Petyr Baelish is evident from season 6 where she confronted him about the way he sold her off to be maltreated by Ramsey Bolton (Iwan Rheon) and all but made him know that he is in her debt. This singular act made Littlefinger know that he is in indebted to Sansa and needs to be loyal to her because of what she holds over him.
If Sansa were to reveal any of the atrocities Littlefinger has committed, it will destroy his reputation and he knows it. Sansa has incredible powers in her hands and it is left to be known how she will use it to her favour by bringing people to listen to her.
Who Says Goodbye?
If there’s anything lovers of the show have learnt, it is the fact that any character is expendable and season 7 is not looking like it will be any different. Moreover, since there would only be one season left after this, it would be pretty disheartening to have any of the Stark family go down with the impending battle for the seven kingdoms.
As it stands, both Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) have had matching Tattoos as the show gradually wounds up. Season 7 may most likely see the revival of some characters as Khal Drogo (Jason Momoa) was seen with HBO producers in Belfast, late 2016 where shooting was taking place. Another character spotted on a plane to Northern Ireland was Ser Jordan Mormont who got infected with grey scale disease in Season 6 and Benjen Stark also known as coldhands (Joseph Mawle) who seems destined for a return from beyond the wall.
But who bows out in season 7 and which of them survives till season 8 is left to be seen.
