Liverpool and West Ham are keeping close tabs on Sassuolo striker Gregoire Defrel, according to reports on GazzaMercato.it.
However, it is understood that Jurgen Klopp wants to bring the Frenchman to Anfield in the January transfer window, while the Hammers would prefer to wait until the end of the season to capture the 25-year-old.
Defrel is contracted to the Serie A club until the summer of 2020.
Defrel joined Sassuolo in the summer of 2015 and has scored seven goals for the club this season.
He arrived at the club as a replacement for Simone Zaza, who had moved to Juventus.
Zaza is now at the London Stadium on loan with West Ham until the end of the season – but he is yet to score for his new club.
