Tottenham have made a tentative enquiry about Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.
Barkley is out of contract in 2018 and has been left out of the team on several occasions by Ronald Koeman this season.
The Standard report that a January move would be difficult but Spurs are looking at the situation closely and would have to offer a minimum of £35m.
Barkley’s current Everton deal has 18 months remaining on it and talks over a new contract have been put on ice while the player tries to hold down a place in manager Ronald Koeman’s side. Koeman has been critical of Barkley this season, but restored him to the team for the victory over Arsenal and was rewarded with an impressive performance.
Barkley has lost his England place since the European Championships
Chelsea have also previously registered their interest in Ross Barkley.
